Before adding the warm mix to your hopper, place it in the refrigerator. By doing this, your machine will run on less energy, make frozen goods more quickly, and avoid other possible problems. Remember that you shouldn’t ever put frozen goods or mix pieces in your hopper. This will disrupt the hopper’s temperature and/or clog the air tubes, leading to additional problems. Turn off the machine first, then remove any mixture that is producing resistance. Next, check for accumulation or damage on the auger blades & bearings since these may be the reason for the auger stalling. Some commercial machines are capable of recovering from a jammed auger by pressing an overload reset button. After the machine has been cleared, restart it to see if the churning is smooth. In extreme situations, removing and properly cleaning the auger could be necessary to have it operating at its best again.
